dangerous multi-state manhunt unfolding at this hour, searching for a military trained former l.a.p.d. officer suspected of murdering three people so far and shooting several others. police say christopher dorner implicated himself with a chilling 14-page manifesto in which he warned of more carnage to come and police are warning their potential targets and confirmed that some of the officers involved in the manhunt opened fire in two separate incidents thinking that the suspect was approaching them in his truck and turned out that two civilians were injured in the first incident. it's unclear what happened in the second incident and none of those people appear connected to the suspect in any way. we suspect to learn more on this when the los angeles police chief takes the podium and there the press conference is getting ready and that will happen at any minute and we'll bring it to you. in the meantime, we have fox news coverage and trace gallagher is in our news room. and adam housley is in riverside, california with the latest on the manhunt. and i know it's changing by the minute
to california where a massive manhunt has the los angeles area on virtual lockdown. the lapd even putting extra security at their headquarters because the spblgt used to be one of their own. christopher dorner is wanted in multiple shootings spanning six days. the 33-year-old said he's declaring war with the lapd after losing his job. according to his late and rambling manifesto, he wants to revenge until his name is clear. he writes the violence of action will be high. i will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare. dorner is accused of killing a couple and shooting at two police officers killing one of them. his vehicle was found in the big bear area, so far no sign of the man police describe as armed and dangerous. nbc's stephanie stanton has more from los angeles. >> reporter: this burned out truck belonging to suspect christopher dorner was found in the mountains two miles east of los angeles. but dorner himself was nowhere to be found. >> dorner is considered armed and extremely dangerous. >> reporter: dorner posted aing lengthy manifesto on facebook detailing threats against police

warfare to lapd whether on or offduty. i never had an opportunity to have a family of my own so now i'm terminating yours. eats looking for attention, which he's been getting. what would you say is the psychology of this guy and the fact that he's been able to elude police for so long? >> well, a number of issues. number one, this is someone who has held these negative thoughts since he was a child. he writes about alleged acts of discrimination all the way from being a child as an african-american up to being a police officer. as you know, he was terminated, fired from the lapd for alleged misconduct but still had something going for him, thomas. he was still a lieutenant in the u.s. navy but some time in january or so he became aware, obviously he had been passed over twice for promotional lieutenant commander. he wasn't going to stay in the navy. january 31st he shuts off his cell phone. february 1st, he's no longer in the navy and then this terrible plot, this idea all comes together in his mind. >> and it seems that if he is bent on revenge and he keeps going, that maybe his work
